ABOUT MESupporting You Through Life Transitions, Mood
& Trauma.

Hello! I’m Jocelyn.

I have a Master’s degree in counselling and over 10 years of therapeutic experience. I am a Basic EMDR Trained Therapist and a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario.

Throughout my career I have worked mainly with children, adolescents, women, and families, with a focus on complex trauma, high conflict divorce, interpersonal relationships, parent coaching, school issues, sexual identity, anxiety, and depression. I have also worked with couples hoping to improve their communication and relationship, as well as with individual adults.

For my coaching clients I use all of my therapy experience to help you determine what your life’s purpose is, how to unlock your potential, and how to achieve your goals. I am passionate about seeing clients change their limiting beliefs and focus their energy on what matters most so that they are able to realize the value they have to offer the world and not shrink back from their own greatness.

The difference between counselling and coaching is that Therapists are trained mental health professionals who require licensure and are regulated by a governing body. They are equipped to diagnose and treat mental health concerns and focus on emotional healing. Therapists are often only able to treat those who live within their governing jurisdiction. Life coaches do not require licensure and therefore have a bit more flexibility and freedom in how they support their clients. Coaches can work with clients globally, on an international scale. Coaching clients are assisted to live their best life, achieve their goals, focus in on a particular skill they wish to develop, and reach their full potential.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get insurance coverage for the session?
Prior to each session a payment link will be sent to your email. Once you pay for the session time you will be issued an invoice, which you then submit to your insurance. Then your insurance company will reimburse you according to the coverage of your benefits plan.
When will I start feeling better?
Following an initial intake session, clients are provided with various coping strategies. Some clients experience immediate improvement upon implementing these new techniques. Nearly all clients report significant progress once they begin reprocessing traumatic material, as their levels of distress start to diminish and they can properly organize the traumatic memory.
How much do sessions cost?
A standard therapy hour is 50 minutes long and costs $200 per hour. For those with lower benefits coverage, or if paying out of pocket, a sliding fee can be negotiated.
What do I need to do to work with you?
You will be sent initial paperwork that needs to be completed prior to your first session. Once that documentation is received then we can schedule your first session and decide if you would like virtual or in-home therapy sessions.
How long does therapy usually take?
Some clients benefit from short term therapy (8-12 sessions), while others are in therapy for years. Therapy is considered officially complete when all the past traumatic memories, current triggers, and future templates are finished off your treatment plan.
Do I have to tell my Therapist everything?
You only need to share what you feel comfortable sharing. Some clients tell all, some only open up after more of a relationship has been built with their therapist, and some share very little. During reprocessing in EMDR therapy you only need to share with your therapist if what you have reprocessed is positive, negative, or neutral.
